How does the 30-day free trial work?
BigXL includes a built-in 30-day trial of every single paid feature (Pro and Enterprise). The trial starts when you click 'Start my trial' in Settings, not when you install. You have full access to test on your largest files with no credit card required and no account sign-up.
What happens if I do not renew the $29/year update license for Pro?
You keep using your current version of BigXL forever. Your software key never expires, and core capabilities like CSV export, data cleaning, DuckDB SQL, and session saving never stop working. The $29/year renewal is completely optional if you wish to receive future software feature updates.
How does the Enterprise seat pricing and renewal work?
BigXL Enterprise is $199 per seat and includes one year of assurance. Assurance renews at $99 per seat per year for newer versions with updated detectors and compliance rules, technical support, and new compliance certificates. If assurance ends, covered versions keep Enterprise cleaning, masking, export, audit, and folder processing. Certificates already saved to your computer remain available. Every order of 10 seats includes 1 additional bonus seat free.
What is the refund policy?

How does the '1 extra seat free for every 10 seats' volume perk work?
When you buy BigXL Enterprise you get one bonus seat for every ten seats ordered. Order ten seats and you receive eleven keys, a saving of $199. Order twenty and you receive twenty-two, a saving of $398. Order fifty and you receive fifty-five keys.
How does the offline machine licence key work?
BigXL never communicates with a licence server. Each paid key is cryptographically signed against your computer's native hardware identifier. One key is one seat. When purchasing team licenses, IT receives a single batch bundle file containing all keys that can be deployed across all laptops at once.
What happens if a computer breaks or is replaced?
During active coverage, deactivate the old computer and provide its receipt to move your seat. If the old computer is unavailable, we can issue at no charge up to 12 temporary 30-day keys for one replacement computer, ending when the original coverage ends. After coverage ends, a different computer requires a new full licence. Reinstalling on the same Machine ID uses the same key at no charge.
Is any file data uploaded to cloud servers or third-party APIs?
No. Files, queries, and the ⌘J language model stay on your computer. BigXL makes no automatic network requests. If you choose to check for an update, it sends your signed licence key to bigxl.app to verify coverage; it never sends your files.
